A Perfect Veterans Day

On Veterans Day my family and I did some pretty fun things. We went to the military cemetery at Ft. Sam to visit my grandpa. It was the first time I saw his grave. He served in the army, fought in the Vietnam war and earned many awards for courage and valor including the purple heart and the silver star. I know there are more, but  I can't even remember how many. I miss my grandpa a lot. I was glad to spend time remembering grandpa with my family. There were red ribbons placed in front of all the head stones.

After that we went to eat. We got smoked chicken and pork sandwiches  and as sides we got  beans chips and a drink. We did not go to a restaurant. We went to a small church in Adkins that was hosting a fundraiser for the families of the victims of the shooting in Southerland Springs.   The food was okay, but it made me happy to help the families of the victims.

When our bellies where full we made our way to the race track. It was a dirt track in Pleasanton Texas where we saw heat racing, regular races, trucks pulling jet skis racing and even demolition derby! It was all very exiting.  In the truck tow races one of the jet skis fell of the trailer and one even had a dummy on it !!! It was the perfect day.
